The sacraments are a beautiful gift to us from God.  They are given to us in the context of the Church, the People of God.  The Sacraments speak to us of God’s presence and allow us to experience Him in an intimate and grace-filled way.  As a people of faith we must always be filled with gratitude to God and to the Church for this gift of the sacraments.  As teachers and leaders in the faith we must also take responsibility in providing the necessary steps to ensure that the celebration of the Sacraments is done in a manner that is both appropriate and beautiful and that those who participate in sacraments are well formed and prepared for the sacramental activities of the faith.

- Most Reverend Gerald F. Kicanas, D.D.,  Bishop of Tucson
