The roots of our parish go back to Mexican- American resident and migrant workers who labored in local agricultural, ranching, and business enterprises. Along with their families, they gathered regularly for Mass and became a faith community in the early 60s.

In 1983, Fr. Paul Larocue, and the community of Lady of the Valley, raised $250,000 and built the present all-purpose church/hall building in the property donated by Mr. R. Keith Walden, one of FICO's owners.

Fr. Michael Shay, S.D.S., became the administrator of the Mission on July 1, 2000. When Bishop Manuel Moreno raised the mission to the level of Parish Church, naming Fr. Shay as its First Pastor on December 12, 2002. Deacon Peter Grimaldo served alongside the Fr. Shay. Together with many faithful collaborators, they build up the community as a beacon of multicultural ministry for all families.

After Fr. Shay retired, Bishop Gerald Kicanas appointed Fr. Jens-Peter “Jay” Jensen Jr. as Administrator pro tem,

Fr. Juan Carlos Aguirre was appointed as the Second Pastor of San Martin de Porres Parish on July 1st, 2013.
